Last August 28, 2010 was supposed to be my second time to attend the forum organized by the SEM-CDA but unfortunately due to my tummy I wasn’t able to attend. But I ask my classmate to help so that I will know what the forum is all about. The forum was about Public diplomacy.
"PUBLIC DIPLOMACY refers to government-sponsored programs intended to inform or influence public opinion in other countries; its chief instruments are publications, motion pictures, cultural exchanges, radio and television." (U.S. Department of State, Dictionary of International Relations Terms, 1987, p. 85)
There should be three speakers that time but unfortunately the two others did not came but that did not stop the forum because the speaker filled up the space he shared to us the things he know. During his speeches he will always say that we Filipino people should always continue to support the Philippines tourism not only to developed nationalism but also to help our country to have foreign investors because tourism plays a very big role in our economy. He also talked about the incident that had happened last Monday August 23, 2010. That we should not let this incident stop us from promoting our country but also we should not be aggressive when promoting our country because it might hurt the countries that had been affected by the incident last Monday.
